Thank you for choosing us as your local grower. CSA, β€œCommunity Shared Agriculture”, is by far one of the best ways to eat in season veggies, all while supporting your local community growers.

Below you will find some terms and conditions that will help you better understand your share.

A little about CSAs… CSAs are a way of distributing food, one that has the least amount of transportation between the grower and the consumer. It also creates an opportunity for the consumer to have a closer connection with their food, and the grower.  When investing in a share, you are essentially paying for the future harvest, thus providing your grower with an income early in the season. In return, each week during the share period, you will receive a harvest box showcasing that week’s highest quality produce.

The harvest season begins early June and ends Thanksgiving weekend (depending on weather and growing conditions).   That’s 18-20 weeks of farm fresh goodness! Before the season starts, an advanced payment is required to secure your share. We offer our shares to folks of Centre Wellington and the surrounding areas. Before the start of the season, we will send out pick-up instructions so everything is outlined for our shareholders.

We are a diverse micro farm, growing a wide selection of crops. This means you will enjoy the diverse flavours and benefits of seasonal crops. Each week’s share will look different throughout the season, as early season shares will contain an array of greens (great for early summer salads) while late season shares will boast more cooking veggies ( great for those cherished family gatherings).  So please take to mind, just as the season change so does your share. We pre-make your harvest boxes, but you don’t have to worry, we do take into mind what goes together (you won’t be given an odd assortment of produce), and you’ll be able to notify us of any food allergies. We do hope you will take the challenge if an unfamiliar, or maybe less- enjoyed veggie arrives in your box you will give it a try! I am looking forward to occasionally tucking in some of my favorite recipes in your box, we hope you will pass along some of your favourites as well for co-sharers to try!

Market garden crops can be devastated by weather, pests, and disease. At Duurzame Growers, we take the necessary measures to lessen the impacts of these difficulties, but sometimes it is out of our hands. As a shareholder, you buy into both the rewards of the farm, but also into the risks that may occur during the season. Be aware that some crops promised may be available to you in a limited quantity or not seen at all, due to the previously mentioned seasonal difficulties.

Unlike β€œbig box stores”, our produce is harvested at its top freshness, so we cannot guarantee a shelf-life. You must use your discernment whether it is necessary to cook and enjoy or preserve and store your fresh produce.
